I was hired onto CCT through a 3-month contract to hire package, spending the first 3 months with COMSYS, Inc. CCT is part of Japan Communications Incorporated (JCI), the first MVNO in Japan.

My job at CCT was to work in the Research & Development department putting together a new mobile platform set to be launched in Japan & China on JCI's network. The hardware device is based upon a Linux embedded package. PHP and Ajax technologies have also played a significant role in the architecture. I currently have a patent pending for the architecture design that I put together.

    September 2005February 2006 (6 months)

I worked on a 3 month contract through Gunther Douglas. I was contracted to Xcel Energy, who had developed a partnership with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). I and two other engineers worked on a piece of prototype software that was designed to help planning engineers at Xcel Energy determine the optimal place to put solar cells.

The software was built using open source software around a Postgres GIS backend. The front end was based upon a PHP/AJAX project called pmapper. I worked mainly on the PHP/AJAX front end, adding significant functionality.

In the end, the project was extended as much as possible, but ultimately ran out of steam.

While at CIBER, the BLM failed a unannounced IT security audit and all websites were shut down for 6 months. During this time, I participated in extensive security reviews and security training. I passed the Ethical Hacker Certification test while with CIBER.

I worked on several projects before the security audit. The most notable would be the Adopt A Horse website software to allow the public to adopt wild horses from BLM land. http://www.blm.gov/adoptahorse/
