Michigan Attorney General (2003-2011): Cox led Michigan's largest law firm with 270 attorneys through 8 years of great change - including reducing the staff by 25% - accompanied by tremendous institutional growth. He ran the office as a business with revenues over $400 million and expenditures of $70 million. Mr. Cox became a national leader in issues involving manufacturing and economic competitiveness, energy issues, and protecting federalism. His leadership in Michigan lead to record billion dollar recoveries for Michigan's citizens and taxpayers. He stood up for free markets and against monopolies in the health care insurance markets; for market transparency in securities; and, against excessive governmental regulation in health care, energy, and manufacturing.

(1990-2003) Led a staff of 14 attorney specializing in homicide prosecutions; tried over 125 jury trials and hundreds of bench trials; tried sophisticated rackeetering and organized street and white collar crime conspiracies; led multiple sophisticated investigations and tried grand jury cases; and created strategies that led improved convictions rates.
