Mid, in 1985, glued herself to the television to watch Soleil Moon Frye portray “Punky Brewster” a spunky young girl wearing, decorative buttons, mixed matched socks and several layers of texture tops to make one design statement. After watching a few shows, Mid had fallen in love with fashion.
Following most great designers, Mid registered in a Vocational School to study Fashion and joined the sales force at Contempo Casuals to gain experience and for three years, Wet Seal became her personal design studio. Every customer was a new “project” with the movie “Clueless” influencing her sense of style. Contempo solidified the idea that her precocious gift in fashion was going to become a career.
With a small budget and a leap of faith, Mid moved to Georgia to attend one of the best fashion institutions in the south, Bauder College. With the progression from design classes, a home sewing machine, 20 yards of fabric and a second bedroom to use as a studio, Mid began draping patterns to fit her creative ideas.
Mid joined the William Reynolds Modeling Agency to learn the industry from a models perspective. With a team of fellow models from WRMA, she produced her first runway show in 2000 shown to over 300, including writers and photographers in Atlanta at Club Esso.
Mide’ is to offer upscale garments to add a unique edge and luxurious appeal to any woman’s wardrobe. Most pieces merge elegance with contemporary imagination, analytical designs while obscuring the body’s minimalist silhouette emphasizing apparel distinction.
