Operations Manager at Ecast, Inc
San Francisco Bay Area
I currently manage jukebox heros with stars in their eyes for Ecast, and manage all of the day to day operations of technical support and production. We make touchscreen jukes that have internet capability. This means im not only responsible to make sure they are connected to the internet, im responsible to make sure a network of 10K + jukes are in working order. I also train new ninjas we hire to have special tech fu skills to snuff out any glitchy opposition that would thwart our efforts of entertaining the boozing masses. The marriage of a huge library of music and computers makes me love my job, which is a first in my career of tech goodness.
I am also the Twitter voice for Ecast, sending daily tweets out to our company's followers to get the latest scoop on us.
Ive also been a network/internet security analyst, and I have over 10+ years experience in building, supporting, upgrading systems, networks, and everything else under the binary sun, including a very challenging fixed wireless network i helped deploy in Napa Valley, playing three roles to accomplish (sales, field engineer, tech support).
I have done IT support for a few Federal agencies on the east coast, as well as administrative support. I have supported systems for NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technologies) and the US Dept of Energy's Office of Science. I am detail oriented, in part to my background in the medical field. This led me to do a great deal of technical writing for the Department of Energy, from manuals to reports.
As someone who has worn many hats, my ability to speak French has allowed me an edge with customer service and support for wineries, gourmet food distribution, as well as computer companies.
Social engineering, persuasion, conviction, fast learning curve, persistent, all things computer nerd, Win/Linux network/systems administration, security scanning, generating concise beautifully written poetic reports out of boring binary datum, and i can make one hell of a cup of coffee.
