Account Handler at VCCP

After doing a degree in Advertising and then going into what has become one of the most notorious Digital creative shops in town I've been lucky enough work in an Integrated agency (VCCP) for the past year, which is embracing digital integration to the full but can also teach me the strategic rigour that I've always wanted to become strong in.
My goal is just to produce work that people outside the industry remember and love, whether that's in an Account Director role or a Planner's I'm not sure yet - in all honesty I'm not sure it matters.
All facets of communications: advertising, branded content, content leveraging, PR and marketing. Also covering the strategic end of communication: strategic insight, concept marketing, development, research, and ideation.

Assisted the Planning Director on a Global campaign for a luxury automotive brand - enabling me to pick up core skills that are vital for a Planning role. These were:
1) Stimulating Creativity: I designed a presentation that would eventually brief the creative team for the campaign. My idea was to translate this presentation into a visual media and really capture the tone of voice that would suit the brand.
2) Enhance Strategic Capabilities: As all ideas had to be ‘campaignable’ I ensured that all ideas would be appropriate for the brand in the long-term.
3) Exploring Human Insights: At the hub of all communication sat a very in-depth pen portrait of the consumer and what micro details of the campaign would reach them on a personal level and really differentiate the advertising and the car.
