Michele R. Acosta and her company, WT Editorial, provide editorial services to publishers, editorial development houses, and educational product developers at all stages of production including content development, manuscript preparation, and post-production editing. A joint venture partnership with Connie McDavid of Sunflower Publishing Services allows us to provide a full range of services including project management.
Some recent projects:
• Algebra II ADP math program—wrote/edited student edition.
• 6th grade reading program—wrote/edited teacher edition wrap & comprehension development pages + accompanying transparencies and blackline masters.
• 6th grade reading program—wrote/edited teacher edition leveled fluency development and weekly review pages; wrote/edited teacher edition front and end matter.
• 6th grade English language development program—wrote/edited original student edition passages and activities and teacher edition instructional materials (addressed listening & speaking, reading comprehension, writing).
• 5th/6th grade reading program ancillaries—edited on level reading passages and practice book activities, then leveled for struggling, advanced, and ELL levels.
• K/5th/6th grade reading program ancillaries—wrote/edited blackline masters for leveled readers.
• 3rd/4th/5th grade English language development programs—wrote/edited unit assessment booklets testing grammar, comprehension, vocabulary, word analysis & writing; wrote/edited teacher editions including answer analysis, score analysis, fluency tests, & correlation charts.
• elementary grade social studies program—developed content correlated to state standards, then wrote/edited state specific workbook.
• pre-K music series—edited English version of teachers guide, media components, parent magazine, take home materials; translated and reviewed media components, parent magazine, take home materials, other miscellaneous materials from English to Spanish.
Despite a small in-house staff, we tackle big projects (and deliver superb results) by drawing from a tested pool of talented freelancers. Our freelance writers and editors are highly skilled in the content areas under development. Most are certified teachers and most possess degrees or extensive professional experience in their content areas. Our translators have advanced degrees in Spanish language and/or literature. Most have experience translating educational materials for children.

• Write educational web content including lesson plans, activity and study guides, reading suggestions, and articles for web sites including Encyclopaedia Britannica, Discovery School, and The Writing Tutor.
• Act as lead writer for large publishing projects and coordinate with all writers to insure that guidelines are met, manuscripts are uniform, and educational content meets or exceeds standards.

• In 2004-2005, wrote promotional materials for a local education referendum that passed by an overwhelming majority.
