Michael Scherrer is an exceptional creative with over eight years of professional experience in branding and visual communication. Michael started as an ambitious fourteen year old by undertaking freelance web design projects in the real estate, action sports and music industries on a local level. These endeavors lead to projects of larger scale including work for a major production company, a national level energy drink, and an internationally distributed electronics manufacturer.
At sixteen years old Michael left high school early to pursue an internship offered to him by the renowned southern California design studio, Juxt Interactive. Scherrer took the opportunity in order to work shoulder to shoulder with award winning designers on strategic planning, design, and technological service projects for noteworthy clients such as Nestea, Bell Powersports, and Shea Homes.
Although Michael's formal education includes various branding seminars such as the distinguished Brand Gap Workshop – by the American Institute of Graphic Arts, where Scherrer has been a member for over four years – his primary source of education is his stay at Art Center College of Design. Michael majored in graphic design at Art Center and studied curriculum spanning visual communication, typography, branding, and design. Scherrer was recognized as a top student by his peers and the Art Center faculty; he was also awarded merit in the student category of HOW magazine's International Design Awards.
Currently Michael does freelance projects for a wide range of clients in several distinct industries and markets. He is well known for being a designer who takes joy in the problem solving aspect of design.
