The refuge has been in continuous operation since 1927 by the Sisters of Most Merciful Love.

    The Merciful Love Connection enables persons in the United States to support the physical needs, and provide education at the Refuge of Mercy.

    As President, I provided leadership through its infancy and first 2 years. (2005-2007). Drove organizational focus and increased fundraising to accomplish the following at the Refuge: Facility improvements, Provided education for the new director, Set up a computer program and hired the teacher and a tutor, advocated Directors and Officers insurance, Set up and ran the Web site, and firmed up plans to remodel the entire 1927 building.
