Michael Tillery’s Summary

I want to help propagate an interest in journalism by giving our youth a positive example of sports visualization. Yes, we have to be objective in our reporting, but that certainly doesn't mean we have to have a contentious relationship with athletes or entertainers.

Do more interviews. I've found interviews give a more precise definition of who celebrities really are and aspire to become.

Athletes, entertainers and politicians trust me--not because they view me as a personal apologist. They trust me because I challenge them to give it to me straight without disrespect.

Ask deep questions without coming off as condescending. If an athlete is setting bad examples, then scrutinize him accordingly...

and I'm not speaking of a traffic ticket ;)

It's time to advance thought and get it back to the smell of the grass despite the cash.

Michael Tillery’s Specialties:

I'm a writer with a unique perspective of life as we know it. I'm also a master interviewer who wants readers to feel the real story behind the talent of those we follow daily.

Michael Tillery’s Experience

  • Editor In Chief

    The Starting Five

    (Media Production industry)

    2007Present (2 years)

    According to: http://thestartingfive.net/the-starting-five-is/

The Starting Five (TSF) intends to cause a ruckus in the most honorable way. Our collective goal is to provide sports fans with an alternative to the popular Internet social and sports readings of the day.

We are scrupulous in our reporting of sports-related topics and subject matter; we source actual people; we reference actual publications. We relate the truth as it finds us, not as we want it to be.

Some days TSF will raise eyebrows. Some days TSF will anger many people, but inform more. But most importantly, we of TSF will be relentless in our pursuit of knowledge about the games about which we write and equally relentless in our pursuit of the truth about the people in and around the games, sports, and leagues we love.

    Welcome to The Starting Five.

The good are separated from the great simply by the risks they take.
