As a computer programmer Michael specialized in developing and enhancing Business Basic applications for mid-size and large industrial and corporate clients. Joining Basis International Ltd., a provider of Business Basic programming tools and resources, in 1994, Michael worked directly with Basis customers, developed new programming tools, and helped substantially rewrite several product manuals. Michael gave technical presentations at conferences and seminars as well as visited large customer installations to provide technical support and consulting services.
Striking out on his own in 1998, Michael Martinez became involved in search engine optimization, Web site promotion, and independent writing projects. He achieved world-wide recognition as the author of Parma Endorion, a collection of essays about the works of J.R.R. Tolkien and gave technical advice to artists involved in producing the "Lord of the Rings" movies as well as several companies involved in product merchandising.
