Michael J. Formica, MS, MA, EdM's Overview
Michael J. Formica, MS, MA, EdM's Summary
I am a board certified counselor, educator and integral life coach who, for more than two decades, has fostered the exploration and development of optimum potential for individuals, couples, groups and organizations through both direct client contact and as an organizational leader.
In addition to my clinical expertise, I have held faculty positions at a number of universities, provided program consultation to school districts in New York and New England and acted as advisor to the American Psychological Association, the National Science Foundation, the National Holocaust Museum and the Smithsonian Institution.
As Director of Clinical Services at Boys and Girls Village Day School, I developed a multi-tiered clinical model as part of a larger therapeutic educational program formally cited by the Connecticut Board of Education as "what should be the standard for alternative educational programs throughout the state".
I have also published more than 250 articles on psychology, cultural anthropology, spirituality and other related topics. My work has been featured in a number of national publications including Psychology Today, the Huffington Post, the New York Times, and Gale Publication’s Opposing Viewpoints: Addiction, due out in May 2014. My blog, 'Enlightened Living', at 'Psychology Today’ has consistently been chosen as an Editor's Choice Essential Read and is often included in the Hot List Feature Collections.
