Certified Scrum Trainer at Scrum Alliance
Netherlands
Michael is Certified Scrum Trainer and experienced Software Engineer. He coaches management and development teams on Agile practices and principles.
Michael has successfully introduced SCRUM in many places in the Netherlands and has worked with Jeff Sutherland, Gabrielle Benefield, Henrik Kniberg and Tobias Mayer, and continues to do so.
Jeff Sutherland very strongly recommends Michael:
"Several years ago Michael asked me to help [...] implement Scrum in the Netherlands and India. Since then we have worked together and the teams he originated are now some of the best in the world with papers published at Agile 2008 and accepted for Agile 2009. A couple of years ago, Michael started his own company, Zilverline, and asked me to train with him in the Amsterdam area. We have done several courses together and I can enthusiastically say that Michael is one of the best trainers I have worked with."
Michael is an experienced Enterprise architect that continually aims to combine productivity and quality. He combines technical skills with business sense and entrepreneurship.
Michael has been a driving force behind two startups: marviQ and Xebia. Within Xebia Michael has set up a successful distributed Agile delivery model with their India subsidiary. (See http://jeffsutherland.com/scrum/2007/04/oursourcing-strategy-only-work-with.html)
Michael strongly believes in the Toyota way, and loves to inspire and challenge people and teams to continually improve themselves and to have fun while doing that.
Michael's mission is to bridge the gap between technology and business. He has executed roles ranging from CTO to lead architect, and from project manager to sales support. He's been hands-on with C, C++, CORBA, and Java for more than 10 years. Michael combines deep insight in technology, and management experience. Occasionally he's a visionary.
