In addition to his professional career as a brand consultant, Michael had been an integral part of the creative staffs of WorldSpace Satellite Radio, Discovery Communications, US Interactive and MCI Telecommunications. The extensive breadth of these organizations has fostered his global perspective and expertise in designing for multicultural and multilingual audiences.
Michael was honored in 2007 to be selected by digital media pioneer Peggy Miles to serve on the Digital Media Executive Advisory Board. Due to his concern and involvement with environment and humanitarian issues, he is Co-founder and COO of Canopy Ethiopia [501c3], a reforestation and alternative energy initiative, where he additionally serves on the Board of Directors.

• Directed and designed brand identity, multi-platform off-air marketing, and advertising for such TLC properties as Trading Spaces, While You Were Out, Resident Life, etc.
• Managed project teams, budgets, schedules, and production
• Interacted with internal clients [marketing and affiliate sales, etc.] from engagement through all phases of creative to delivery of the final product

A short lived international systems integration and internet/web design consultancy, based in Philadelphia PA, that closed its doors at the end of the dot-com boom. USWeb/marchFirst, AvenueA/Razorfish, and Sapient were similar competing agencies.
• Charged with leading an initiative to build a world-class Creative Services department within this newly established Northern Virginia practice. Assembled, managed, and mentored, a multifaceted team that consisted of Art Directors, Designers, Developers, Information Architects, and User Experience specialists. Collaborated with Human Resources in talent recruiting, developing roles, responsibilites, salaries, and hiring and management practices
• Worked closely with the Executive Management, Technology Group, and Client Services teams to create and implement policies and procedures, craft business development strategies, plan marketing initiatives, review proposals, cost estimation, and foster client engagement
• Based on client discovery findings, created and directed site architecture, wireframes, look and feel, content development, brand integration, schedules, etc.

The world’s first digital satellite radio broadcast service, a billion dollar start-up, provided 62 channels of music, news, information to a potential 6.2 billion consumer listeners across 122 countries in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.
• Played an instrumental role in the development of an award-winning 9 person Creative Services team within a $3.5 million a year budget.
• Established and implemented departmental process and procedures
• Defined, created, implemented and managed the corporate and consumer brand, to reflect the visionary, dynamic, high-tech and global nature of the company, and to work within a multicultural and multilingual environment – across all platforms: print,
broadcast, digital media, and outdoor.
• Created integrated solutions for a full range of multi-platform, communication needs that included marketing, advertising and promotion, sales and training, public relations, as well as event and exhibition support across all corporate, consumer, and trade channels
• Initiated and led a team that worked directly with executive management to define and implement the company’s core values, its long and short-term goals and objectives, its core competencies, its products and services, and other relevant factors
• With a $5 million budget constraint, developed and managed a successful service launch marketing campaign, that included B2B, Trade, and “through the line” consumer efforts within the 5 African countries of South Africa, Kenya, Ghana, Nigeria, and Egypt
• Established and managed a global infrastructure of vendor partnerships within our service areas to handle media buys, localization of advertising and collateral, and printing and distribution
