Most of the things I do 'live' in the ADAPT2 (read adapt-square) architecture [http://www.sis.pitt.edu/~paws/project_adapt2.htm] for which I am a co-designer.
ADAPT2 is where we deploy and evaluation innovative user- and group-adaptive web-based technologies. These include (but are not limited to) user modeling, [social] navigation support, collaborative authoring.
The major focus of my work now is distributed adaptive systems, service-based architectures and service-based personalization.
I have implemented personalization service engine that is actively used by the Knowledge Tree portal [http://adapt2.sis.pitt.edu/kt]. Currently I am exploring performance issues of the PService engine including scalability, performance assessment, and optimization.
