Mike Brenner is CEO and Co-Founder of Betamore, a campus for entrepreneurship and technology located in Baltimore. Since launching in Dec 2012, Betamore’s award-winning campus has become home to dozens of web and mobile startups and community of freelancers, technologists, and entrepreneurs. As CEO, Mike leads vision and all new product development. He is responsible for creating the Betamore Academy, an intense education program that has high enrollments of individuals looking to learn career-ready skills in web development. Since opening, Betamore has continued to maintain profitability by focusing on complimentary revenue streams, like pairing industry with education.

Mike is a recognized leader in Baltimore’s tech community and the face behind events like the Baltimore Startup Weekend. He is the creator of industry-focused events such as Education Hack Day (Education) in 2011, Reinvent Transit (Transportation) in 2012, and Power the Future (Energy) in 2013.

Mike graduated from the George Washington University with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. While in college, he founded Sunrise Design, a web agency that he moved to Baltimore and ran for 5 years before launching Betamore. He is also the founder of Startup Baltimore, on online publication and organization focused on the early-stage tech and innovation community in Baltimore.

In 2012, Startup Baltimore was acquired by Technically Media out of Philadelphia which used the purchase to springboard the launch of their regional publication, Technically Baltimore.

Mike has been honored to be a recipient of the “40 Under 40” awards from both the Baltimore Business Journal and Baltimore Magazine, the “Innovator of the Year” award from The Daily Record, and the “Community Leader of the Year” award by Technically Baltimore.

Mike is an identical twin that still enjoys pulling the occasional prank. He lives in Mt. Vernon and enjoys spending time outdoors with his beautiful bride-to-be.
