Misty Ewegen Esq.’s Summary

I am a child advocate and an environmental attorney. My goal is to represent children in difficult situations and litigate to protect the environment. Currently I am focusing on the Endangered Species Act.

I was a G.A.L. in Adams, Denver, and Clear Creek Counties. I served in both Dependency and Neglect cases and as a C.F.I. in restraining order cases. I have investigated dozens of family situations to determine the parenting responsibilities for couples separated due to restraining orders and domestic violence and have represented several children in D&N, including one termination of parental rights trial.

I also have experience researching legal issues including legal malpractice, consumer fraud, evidence and civil procedure. As a law clerk in New Jersey I drafted successful motions for litigation in a variety of areas. I developed complex interrogatories for personal injury, legal malpractice, and contract disputes. I successfully researched and prepared arguments against a motion for summary judgment in a contract case involving the Parol Evidence Rule.

I recently filed suit against the Secretary of the Interior and successfully negotiated a settlement on an Endangered Species Act case concerning the designation of critical habitat for the Mississippi Gopher Frog.
