Melissa is an experienced Community Manager focused on developing strategy and consumer/brand relations.
Melissa loves connecting users and companies in unique ways through technology. She likes to guide brand presence across the web using social media, ensuring that a company has a positive presence wherever customers are having conversations about that product.
While at Yahoo! Melissa has led the social media efforts for products like Yahoo! Messenger and Profiles. For both products, she was responsible for managing the communication between users and the product teams through various channels, including the product blog, user group, and targeted Advisory Panels.
Prior to joining Yahoo!, Melissa worked for Passenger where she ran the online Communities for Nike, Coke, ABC Daytime, JCPenney, British Petroleum, among others.
Melissa also has her Master's degree in Communication Management from USC, where her thesis work focused on "User-Generated Content and Viral Media and its Impact on Broadcast and Marketing Structures."
