As a member of the Advanced Analytics team, I support government clients who require expertise in the quantitative social sciences. Currently I tend to focus on using surveys to collect data from populations around the world in order to better understand behaviors and attitudes. This includes instrument design, collaborating with in-country vendors to field surveys, as well as cleaning and subsequently analyzing the data collected. In addition to research efforts involving survey data, I have both contributed to and led a variety of R&D projects involving methodologies ranging from multiple-imputation to social network analysis. I have experience working with Department of State as well as multiple organizations within the Department of Defense.
PhD Candidate
NYU - Department of Politics
Educational Institution; 10,001+ employees; Higher Education industry
September 2004 – June 2009 (4 years 10 months)
My graduate studies focused on political methodology, econometrics and American voting behavior. My dissertation, which I defended in June of 2009, examines why independents in the United States fail to identify with either of the two political parties and presents a political model of party identification. In the course of this research I developed a computer assisted algorithm for coding the reponses to open-ended survey questions. I used this algorithm to re-code the responses to the most important problem question asked by the American National Election Studies over the course of approximately 20 years.
