Consultant; Web Developer and owner of Meancode Media, LLC
Toledo, Ohio Area
I own a small web design and development business, Meancode Media, LLC, that I started in 2002. I provide consulting for e-commerce and search engine optimization, as well as usability.
I work part-time at BGSU Student Publications as Webmaster and System Administrator for their network of computers. I mainly work on and develop the BG Views Network sites, which are developed using Movable Type Pro.
I am currently the Gaming Editor at Blogcritics Magazine (blogcritics.org) which allows me to fill my hidden desire to be a journalist. This might be because I have worked at The BG News, the college newspaper at BGSU, for 10 years - in one form or another.

I am currently the Gaming Editor at BC Magazine (blogcritics.org). Our Gaming section launched in 2005, though the site has been around since 2002.
Since December 2007 we have been doing a weekly live radio show, which I host.
The Gaming section focuses on reviews, interviews, and features.

2002 — Present (7 years )
In 2002 I started my own business, thought it was far from a calculated effort. However, I find that it is quite nice to have my own business, that is when freelance work is flowing!
I provide web design and hosting for clients, Macintosh networking, and FileMaker Pro database design services.
In early 2007 I moved my home-based business to an office in downtown Bowling Green.

I currently manage the network of Macintosh computers for Student Publications. I also manage the design of The BG News, which uses InDesign and NewsEdit Pro to publish daily.
I handle all management related activities for bgnews.com, as the print staff of The BG News updates the content on the site.
I do this part time, under a Non Student Letter of Appointment at Student Publications.

August 1997 — Present (12 years 4 months)
The BG News web site launched in the fall of 1997, hosted in-house and with a fully manual, labor intensive daily update of news from the print paper.
Today we are partnered with College Publisher, part of the MTV Networks, and bring the Bowling Green and BGSU community daily and breaking news.
My position is still Webmaster; though the amount of work has changed, my involvement with bgnews.com has not. Editing is now completely done by the print staff, thanks to the Content Management System in place, allowing me to focus on the more technical aspects of the web site.

2000 — 2002 (2 years )
As one of many Faculty Consultants at the Center for Teaching, Learning, and Technology, (CTLT), I helped graduates, faculty, and staff understand and use web technologies such as HTML and Dreamweaver, Photoshop, and many video based products such as Media 100, Final Cut Pro, etc.
This involved one-on-one, single, and multi-day training sessions on projects with varying scope.
For the Digital Video and Audio Initiative, I was involved in the testing and management of compression and streaming of audio and video of many University events.
(Arts and Crafts industry)
May 2000 — July 2000 (3 months)
Far away from Camp Manatoc, I had to find some way to contribute to Boy Scout Summer Camp. This came by way of Handicrafts Director at Pioneer Scout Reservation. That was a fun summer.
(Food & Beverages industry)
May 1996 — July 1998 (2 years 3 months)
Every summer between 1996 and 1998 I handled Dining Hall Director duties, which often times called for cooking for upwards of 500 people.
Digital Art , 3-D Animation, Web & Multimedia Design , 1997 — 2005
After many full-time and part-time years of college, I have found that college is really not for me. I have a partial BFA degree in Digital Art, with a focus on web and multimedia.
I started in 3-D Animation, learning PowerAnimator and Maya, before getting burnt out and switching to learning Director, Flash, and the one thing I have always loved, web design and development.
I am currently a junior by credit at BGSU, but while freelance opportunities exist, there is little need for me to spend thousands on finishing my college education.
It will happen. Some day.
