My research and teaching interests are (and have been) focused on the social construction of new (electronic/digital) media, with specific reference to the various ways in which society is implicated in media use. My primary object of study is media production (by professionals as well as amateurs). As a former journalist I have initialy taken journalism and the news as a particular case study, whereas in recent years I included the advertising, computer and video games, motion picture and television industries in my analyses. A related interest focuses on the professionalization of media education.
Management of creativity and creative industries; media education and training (with specific focus on journalism, advertising, tv/film, and game development).
