Michael Gilbert’s Summary
My mission for more than twenty years has been on helping people accomplish good work together. By "good work" I mean work of the heart, work that gives rather than takes. By "together" I mean in communities of work of all kinds, but with a focus on civil society.
As I write this in early 2007, my focus is on the transformative power that prophetic voices can have when they emerge from and speak to genuine communities. I am seeking to make such voices heard and such communities manifest, both for myself and others. I am working to empower and support authors in several formats and I'm finishing a book or two of my own. I continue to lecture and teach from time to time. And I continue to incubate new projects.
In all my work, I do my best to live with one foot firmly planted in the world as it is, with the other firmly planted in the world as I wish it were. The painful tensions that results are engines of creation.
