The explosive growth of blogging and other forms of Web 2.0 social media presents a significant opportunity for organizations to market themselves and strengthen connections with clients and associates. Early adopters can still gain a real advantage over the competition.

But don't just jump into the deep end of Web 2.0 technology without first determining exactly who you want to reach and why.

Understand the people you want to connect with - and your objectives - before creating a strategy and choosing the best tools to implement that strategy.

In addition to consulting, I offer seminars like "Introducing Web 2.0" and "Introducing Twitter" (with colleague Wayne Bishop, creator of Joint Contact online project management software) and "Business Blogging 101" to give attendees a comprehensive introduction to some of the top social media tools available today.

In 2005, I founded my own online marketing firm, McBuzz Communications LLC. McBuzz has done work for major corporations like Nova Chemicals, for the USA's largest nonprofit urban housing developer, PR consultancies and travel writers.
