While not exactly a job, I do pull a small income from my writing over at newsvine.com. I'm best known there as an advocate for the community and as a source of various interesting but technically unlikely ideas for site expansion.
Notably, I requested and started a community movement to convince the newsvine staff to implement a "group" functionality on the site. The advent of Newsvine Groups in November of 2006 changed the face of the site. I remain founder and administrator of community.newsvine.com, the largest group. I'm still trying to convince the staff to give admins greater control over group membership, appearance and usage.
Most recently I was asked to moderate Newsvine's collaboration with the MSNBC Nightly News - I'm the first (and so far only) moderator drawn from the community and am responsible for vetting the comments of prospective members. -
