As Layout Editor, I designed the templates for weekly issues as well as the appearance of each individual piece, mixing art and text to maximise comedic effect. I also spent time mimicking the style of popular publications for special "theme" issues. As Operations Manager I set and managed the budget, office policies, and created a new advertising rate card and accounting system. I also co-ordinated the efforts of the all-volunteer staff, and ensured that a paper was produced and published every week.

(Golden Words is a weekly humour publication produced entirely by student volunteers for the Queen's University Engineering Society. Although it's merely a campus rag, it's the longest running weekly humour publication in Canada.)
