I am a technology manager working with large infrastructure-oriented projects and systems. My technical experience includes Microsoft / Linux / *ix operating systems, middleware and web server infrastructure, load balancing and fail-over technology. Most recently I am managing the Oracle Financial development team at my company, which is currently working on a major upgrade and 'build-out' project.
Additionally, I have substantial experience and education in business process management and financial control functions. I have worked on IT budgeting, capital planning, value estimation (CBA, NPV, IRR, ROI, etc), staff planning and forecasting, and other related work. From this work, I worked with another specialist at the firm to create two training classes: one for vendor management and a second for "RFP Best Practices".
Finally, I'm fascinated by the way that technology changes social structures. I have owned my own domain for over a decade and have used it for several small experiments. My education towards a graduate degree gave me more tools to think about this and I've begun to work on small experiments with blogs, forums, 'wikis' and social networking (like this site).
