Maxwell Smith is a Manager with the Greater Bay Area’s Business Advisory Services (BAS) practice. BAS provides a wide range of services designed to help clients strengthen their internal controls and governance processes, implement sound organizational strategies, increase technological capabilities, and improve operational efficiency.
Maxwell has over six years of experience supporting organizations in their efforts to identify, quantify, prioritize, and implement business process improvements. He has led a wide range of project management, performance management, change management, procurement, and information technology initiatives. He has assisted organizations understand and comply with regulatory requirements, implement corporate governance frameworks in regard to these regulations, and establish appropriate compliance practices. Maxwell has also supported organizations address issues of contractual compliance, particularly for licensing and royalties, and is leading efforts to address the impact of the gray market in the technology industry.
Previously, Maxwell served in Grant Thornton’s Global Public Sector (GPS). Through his work in process analysis, workflow redesign, and organizational development, he helped a number of federal agencies realize significant and tangible benefits. Maxwell also supported the management and implementation of the largest public-private competition/outsourcing effort undertaken by a federal civilian agency in the 50-year history of competitive sourcing.
As a technical advisor with the Consortium of Advanced Management International (CAM-I), he has supported the development of materials to aid manufacturing and service companies improve their capabilities as process-based management organizations.
