Chief Technology Officer
I have been in enterprise IT all my life and have given the future of process management substantial coverage in my writing and speaking. I invented the concept of goal-oriented Adaptive Case Management that merges ECM, BPM and CM functionality. I have published two novels and co-authored 'Mastering The Unpredictable,' the first book to discuss Adaptive Case Management. I focus on designing solutions that empower humans and not technology that puts people out of a job (aka cost cutting). My hobbies are mostly adventure sports such as rallycross racing, heli skiing, Triathlon events and scuba diving.
I started my IT career with IBM and spent 15 interesting years – including 3 years in Saudi Arabia – in hardware engineering, software consulting and lastly sales. In 1988 I founded the ISIS Papyrus Group. I am today Chief Technology Officer at ISIS Papyrus Europe AG and President at ISIS Papyrus America, Inc. ISIS Papyrus provides process and communication solutions to Fortune 1000 clients worldwide. I hold software patents for real-time machine learning for process mining that discovers complex user activity patterns representing ‘actionable knowledge’.
In 2010 with the co-founder of ACT! Mike Muhney, I founded VIPorbit Software International, Inc. to offer Mobile Cloud solutions with VIPorbit®, a unique full-featured Mobile Contact Manager designed for the iOS and Mac.
Recently I set up the MJP Powertec Rallycross team in Austria with my brother and also drive myself an Olsbergs MSE Fiesta (like the one Ken Block drives). We also build and tune cars for others.
Specialties: content management, process management, business strategy, human learning, machine learning, artificial intelligence, rule systems, cognitive systems, complex adaptive systems, systemic thinking, quantum physics

In 2013 I decided to get back into racing after a long, long absence. I used to do mostly motorcycle racing but given my age and responsibilities I now prefer a less risky sport such as Rallycross. RX is THE coming motorsport theme and will be as popular as for example DTM (Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft) soon.
With IMG creating a World Championship circuit in 2014 this sport will soon hit a high with sponsors especially as it appeals to younger people and the smaller usually affordable cars that are being converted for racing. Spectators can identify both with the cars and the drivers (young and older).
I see myself as the intermediary between our business customers and our research and development. Rather than focusing on 'what can be sold', I focus on 'what does an enterprise need'? I should know what our client would need in five years time. But how can I if they do not know that themselves. Therefore I focus on flexibility in our solutions and make them work across industries rather than vertical solutions.
For many years I have also taken the operative role of CEO before I was able to convince Annemarie to take the role so I could focus on the Chief Architect role.
