Max Hays’s Summary
I started my career with my dad's 8mm film camera creating epic back yard cinematic classics and animation. In high school I attended video and film classes, and did live shot camera work for the local cable station where I grew up in New Jersey. In 1991 I discovered computers and started doing desktop video work using an Amiga computer and Video Toaster. I could do 3D Animation, Titles and Graphics, and editing. Eventually I went to school at Full Sail in Winter Park FL for Video and Film. Upon graduating in 1994 I turned around and within 3 days I was teaching at the school. My expertise in Computer Graphics and Animation - along with my prior video experience landing me a job there teaching and lecturing. I did that for 4 years and then went out on my own. I did freelance for several years, some contract work as well. I visited Colorado in 1999 and decided I had to live here. I took a job as Senior Designer at Excite.com/Matchlogic while still maintaining my freelance. In late 2000 I founded Timberline Group mainly as an outdoor web site as I was ( and still ) an avid Offroader/Jeeper. I met Matt Filios in 2003 and joined Virtuas as Creative Director. As a designer I was introduced to incredible people and incredible open source tools which helped me refocus Timberline Group New Media, and now going forward I've put all my energy into the success of TGNM. My goal is to offer all businesses, with a personal affection towards outdoor sports companies but certainly not limited to those, top notch creative services and branding/marketing. To utilize my network of professionals and friends as well as draw on my years of experience, to create powerful and effective designs and productions.
