Keynote Speaker, Author & Consultant to Corporations & Healthcare on Preparedness & Business Triage - TopLinked LION
Orlando, Florida Area
I am the founder and president of the consulting firm High Alert, LLC. and an expert on both Disaster Preparedness & Corporate Leadership. I have served on expert panels with Congressional & Cabinet members. I am the Founding Chairperson of the American Board of Disaster Medicine and serve the nation as a Senior Physician-Federal Medical Officer in the National Disaster Medical System.
My new goal is to raise the "Culture of Preparedness" through corporate consulting, healthcare strategy consulting and even early child education.
In addition to programs for corporate leaders and healthcare executives, I have developed a program called “Rinse, Lather, Repeat”.
Stop, Drop and Roll has resulted in more children saving the lives of parents than parents saving the lives of children in household fires. Moreover, after three decades, the children of yesterday are the parents and grandparents of today, all having learned Stop, Drop and Roll.
Rinse, Lather, Repeat seeks to do the same for all hazards, not just fire. With Rinse, Lather, Repeat you can survive anything, anywhere, every time!
Rinse, Lather, and Repeat is curriculum for kindergarten students that focuses on five core activities:
1. Preparation and maintenance of a three-day "Go-Pak"
2. Knowledge of where to obtain reliable news and evacuation instructions
3. The memorization of local and out-of-state phone numbers for friends and family
4. The location of local shelters and local evacuation routes
5. The appropriate hygiene techniques for home, hospital or other community facility including hand washing to decrease spread of disease.
Finally, children will learn to decontaminate themselves. Unfortunately, health care workers still struggle with how to decontaminate a child. However, every child can be taught how to take a simple shower (not just wander around in the bathtub as so many kids do).
