Public relations is one of those industry that is constantly evolving in terms of technology and practices. Yet, the basis of my 30-years in the profession is tied back to what I first learn as a wetnosed airman at Anderson AFB, Guam. My first boss, First Lieutenant Katie Cutler,(my daughter is named after her), taught me that relationships matter more than anything else. From this first mentor, I learned how to interact work with media professionals ranging from Tere Rios, the lifestyle editor of the Pacific Daily News (and also the author of the Flying Nun) to the radio and TV news directors. While technology has replaced the manual typewriter and the waxing machine for a newspaper, the process hasn't changed much. A public relations professional still has to have great working relationships with the media and other key infuencers.
If you're a business who wants someone who understands the technology but more importantly the process behind effective public relations, please call me. I'll help you reach those objectives.
