Senior Lecturer (Academic Development) at La Trobe University
Australia
I have been working in the field of tertiary education for over 15 years, most recently as an educational researcher at the University of Cambridge, and prior to that as an educational designer at the University of Melbourne. I am currently an academic developer at the Faculty of Law & Management at La Trobe University in Melbourne.
I am interested in a broad range of higher education issues, particularly in e-learning, and have done extensive work on innovations such as online role-plays. My research project at Cambridge used a combination of quantitative and qualitative techniques in order to build a rich evidence base that will inform the University's teaching and learning policy. A sub-project studied student perspectives on daily technology use in the context of their broader learning experience, and I have recently won a small grant to repeat some of this work in an Australian context.
Qualitative research, higher education, e-learning consultancy, project management, development and implementation of innovative educational technologies.
