In 1996 with a B.S. in Computer Science from Purdue University, Matt joined the world of software consulting with Business Data Services (later renamed Tallan) at clients such as Carmax, ValueAmerica, and On2 Technologies. After five years of development and project management, Matt moved to Atlanta, GA to open a new office and become a Regional Manager for Tallan. In 2001, Matt was named the Director of Client Services for CompuCom Application Services division where he was responsible for all services delivery. After CompuCom, Matt spent 2.5 years at a content management software company (Interwoven) where he held various positions in sales and consulting including Senior Solutions Architect and Trusted Advisor. In 2004, Matt joined JBoss Inc. as the Director of Worldwide Sales Consulting responsible for building and managing the technical arm of the sales and marketing organizations. In this role he also was responsible for defining both the technical and business messaging for the JBoss salesforce. In 2006, JBoss was acquired by Red Hat and Matt took on a new role as the founder of the Rockstar program, responsible for the recruiting, hiring, training, assessment, and continuous education of all customer-facing technical talent in the company.
