Who I Am
* Manager - I enjoy managing developers, representing their issues
to the rest of the enterprise, and managing the infrastructure
needed for efficient development and deployment cycles;
* Developer - I'm equally at home coding today's feature or
designing tomorrow's product architecture;
* Integrator - Pulling it all together is the most fun of all. I
speak both technical and business languages.
What I Offer
* Leadership throughout the architecture, design, development, QA,
and deployment processes of service software solutions;
* Technical and HR Management of development teams;
* Authorship of business requirements, technical specifications,
coding standards, and test cases;
* 'Made that mistake already' application design experience;
* Understanding of the Internet and its core protocols;
* Service Software development;
* Database and schema design, especially schema rescue (I can
breathe life into schema that will otherwise fail at scale);
* Active member of the open source community;
* Instructional skills in my various areas of expertise;
* 12+ solid years of doing the same.
server architecture, database design and scalability, software process management, coder management, herding cats (dealing with open source coders and projects), saving the company when no one else can.
Aside from my technical and managerial interests, I am also a semi-professional Liturgical Musician and Cantor, specializing in the Roman Catholic liturgy. On any given Sunday, I can be found leading a choir or performing music ministry solo. I get a great amount of satisfaction from this part of my life, and it complements my technical skills well in a business setting.
