Matt is an MBA student at the Michael G. Foster School of Business, University of Washington with an academic focus on finance, strategy, and management. In addition to his studies, Matt is serving as an officer in the MBA Finance Society and also a member of the Entrepreneurship Network, NetImpact, and the MBA Ambassadors clubs. Outside of school Matt is a board fellow on the non-profit board of the Environmental Coalition of South Seattle (ECOSS).
Over the past summer, Matt worked as a senior financial analyst intern at Amazon.com in their supply chain finance department. There he coordinated with senior members of transportation, facilities, engineering and other teams to develop a cost model of a new proposed warehouse solution to help Amazon better accommodate with seasonal changes in customer demand. Based on this model, Matt developed a means to quantitatively compare the proposed solution against other alternatives and produce a recommendation for leadership.
Prior to business school, Matt worked for several years in the actuarial consulting field for Watson Wyatt Worldwide where he developed strong skills in project management, communication, and analysis while completing projects for large Fortune 500 companies. With an emphasis on retirement plan design and valuation, Matt developed a keen understanding of the risks and opportunities facing businesses today. Matt has completed the first set of actuarial exams and received an Associate designation from the Society of Actuaries (ASA).
