Utilizing his broad range of experiences, Dr. Massoomi was instrumental with decentralization of clinical services, establishing a closed drug formulary, establishing computerized pharmacy clinical programs to support the clinical team, automated dispensing and automating inventory management process. Additionally, he has overseen the updating the pharmacy department to current practice standards as defined by American Society of Heath-System Pharmacists, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, United States Pharmacopeia (USP) <795> and <797>. Dr. Massoomi has lectured nationally on implementation strategies for compliance with USP <797>, proper hazardous drug management as outlined in the Centers for Disease Control’s National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health Alert, and, proper disposal of hazardous drug waste as outlined by the Environmental Protection Agency’s Resource and Conservation Act of 1976.
Through numerous presentations and publications, Dr. Massoomi has shared his passion for the practice of pharmacy with the goal of promoting the important role that individual pharmacist play in public safety.
