My main interest is the development of systems and instruments that do valuable work. Having a masters degree in organization psychology, the organizational, communication and social aspects of (web) development have fascinated me since I started my R&D work at Orga-Toolkit in 2004.

I get a kick from solving problems related to building flexible, extensible and maintainable systems. I like to bend my mind in uncomfortable ways, but I have also found that in many cases it is best to learn from the experience of those who have solved similar problems before me. Originally is often overrated!

Together with Jelle Geertsma, I am working on the development of a portfolio-website for artists. The general idea is to make it extremely easy and relatively cheap for artists to maintain a website where they can display their work in an attractive manner.

Development of psychometric instruments for use in the HR field: tests of intelligence, personality inventories, questionnaires measuring careeer values and interests, etc.

Conducting psychometric research: examining the internal structure, reliability and different forms of validity of psychometric instruments.

Development of a semi-parametric norming method inspired by the work of Peter Tellegen (Universiteit Groningen)

Software development: design and programming of a series of web-based tools that assist test developers in their work and have dramatically increased the productivity of our R&D team.

Calculation and reports coding: capturing norming models and expert kwowledge into coldfusion script code. This code runs inside our online testing application to generate reports based on test results.
