The Working Group provides relevant information to all IFRRO members on the analogue and digital licensing of material from newspapers and periodicals. This includes information on requirements for digital services in the news and journalistic media, and how these can be monitised for the rightholders of original content; and how the development of digital media business models can be sustained.
The International Federation of Reproduction Rights Organisations (IFRRO) is an independent organisation established on the basis of the fundamental international copyright principles embodied in the Berne and Universal Copyright Conventions. Its purpose is to facilitate, on an international basis, the collective management of reproduction and other rights relevant to copyrighted works through the co-operation of national Reproduction Rights Organisations (RROs). Collective or centralised rights management is preferable where individual exercise of rights is impractical.

In 2003 legislation made it mandatory for the Dutch business sector to pay authors a fee through Stichting Reprorecht for photocopying copyright protected works.
It was initially decided to ensure that the payment model complied as closely as possible with the relevant law; a payment structure relating to usage. In this respect it was important to know the percentage of all of the photocopies made within a business in respect of which reprographic reproduction fees are payable. This was determined in the case of each industry based on research carried out by TNS and Veldkamp.
However, many businesses appeared to doubt the accuracy of the rates determined for their particular sector. Industrial associations approached the Minister of Justice, because they wanted a different scheme.
A new, simplified scheme was introduced at the request of the business sector and the various industrial associations. On 18 March 2004 an agreement was signed by representatives of VNO-NCW [Confederation of Industry and Employers], MKB Nederland [SME Association] and Stichting Reprorecht under the watchful eye of the Minister of Justice.
Implementation of the new scheme commenced immediately and more than 250,000 businesses had received a proposal for payment by the autumn of 2004. The number of problems specific to implementation remained limited and were largely resolved by a monitoring team. The Regeling Reprorecht Bedrijfsleven [Business Sector Reprographic Reproduction Rights Plan] got off to a successful start.

Since its inception in 1982 Items developed into the leading design magazine in the Dutch area. Items looks at the design field from the idea that all design disciplines share a number of key characteristics. Architectural, graphic, industrial, product and fashion design are characterized by a specific relationship between art and industry as it was formerly called, then form and function, and nowadays culture and industry. Design is both functional product and cultural expression. In this respect Items is clearly a topical cultural magazine that messages about how we as cultural individuals express ourselves social and aesthetic.

Design in Business, trade journal on Design Management (1996-1998), demonstrated the industry the commercial importance of design in all its forms: packaging, corporate, product and brand design. Each issue was designed around a relevant topic: How to assess creative work, How to brief a design agency and How to manage your visual identity? Case descriptions of recently completed projects showed the practical impact of the new insights. Important for the editorial perspective was the motto Good Design is Good Business: clients are not here to enable designers to make beautiful things, designers are here to create opportunities for their clients.

The business was launched in 1986 when entrepeneur Erik Pol started to import terra cotta pots from Spain: Mediterranean sand-colored pottery, something very new at that time. The terra cotta pots were wildly popular, especially among florists. The store in the Amsterdam Jordaan district soon became too small for the steadily growing collection and in early 1988 a Cash and Carry Wholesale was opened - located in a greenhouse close to the Dutch flower auction in Aalsmeer. Pol's Potten now has her own line of interior design products and is active in many countries.
