Content development, writing, editing, media counseling at Edelman
Greater Atlanta Area
As a Vice President for Edelman - the world's largest independent public relations firm - I draw on 20 years of journalism experience to provide communications consultation.
I write, edit and propose strategic content used in a variety of platforms, including traditional print publications, broadcast, blogs and other digital forms. From byline articles to scripts, white papers to speeches, I distill strategic messaging into clearly written thoughts for external and internal audiences.
I also conduct media training, helping clients understand the most powerful elements of their stories while explaining the demands and expectations of reporters and bloggers.
I’m versed in the tools and techniques of social media, having blogged while a journalist and learning more through Edelman’s proprietary digital media training.
Prior to joining Edelman, I compiled more than two decades of journalism experience as an editor, reporter and page designer. I spent most of my journalism career at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, where he worked for 18 years.
As a versatile writer capable of many voices, I covered topics as diverse as former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich; Georgia Tech football and basketball; cultural changes immediately following 9/11; traditional and emerging media during the 2004 presidential election; Southeastern politics; and the spell of “Harry Potter” on a generation of kids. I blogged for The Atlanta Journal-Constitution during the newspaper's coverage of the 2004 presidential election.
As an editor, I managed content and presentation of the Journal-Constitution’s Sunday Living section, one of the paper’s top print destinations. I coordinated faith and values coverage for the entire newspaper. Supervising some of the paper’s most productive and imaginative writers, I managed content for all sections of the newspaper, including A1, Metro and online
