My goal is to continue to teach and freelance in the area of corporate communications photography. I enjoy being self employed, and I love working in the energy sector, especially taking photographs of industrial sites and production facilities, including the people who work there. I find beauty in the shapes, textures and colours of the industrial landscape.
I have worked in traditional and digital photography since the late 80's and the output of digital files since 1993. I worked at BGM Imaging in Toronto from 1988 - 1995 and pioneered in their digital imaging department. I have experience in file output to many devices like colour laser, dye sub, film writer & large format ink jet. I output files when QuarkXpress came on the market and everyone forgot to include their links and their fonts, and the 44 MB Syquest disk was large. I've troubleshot thousands of files. I learned on a Mac Quadra, eventually had to learn DOS, and original MS Windows. I knew Photoshop before layers, and Illustrator before live preview. I learned about photo digital imaging in its infancy and have grown with it.
Since 1995 I have been freelancing as a photographer, and digital output specialist in both in Toronto and Calgary. Now, I spend my time engaged in many types of contract work including corporate & industrial photography; part time teaching at the post secondary level; digital output; developing and delivering corporate seminars; and taking the occasional family or sports portrait.
A portfolio of my woman-in-sports stock images has been licensed to, and is distributed through the Canadian Association for the Advancement of Women in Sport (caaws.ca) for the use of community centers and non-profits.
Teaching photography and digital imaging at all levels. Photography for corporate communications. Digital output to various printing devices and some pre-press. Project-based work suits me best.
