Web Developer (and enthusiastic computer geek)
Finland
I'm Web and Application Developer with experience of building both business and consumer applications and websites. I've been mostly building systems on LAMP stacks using PHP and for the past years using MVC framework to rapidly build complete web applications and well as just lab demos for studying interesting concepts.
I take programming and web development as creative work and finding new and simpler solutions to any variety of problems makes my day.
After getting to know the elegance of jQuery Javascript framework. playing around with DOM and creating client-side dynamic apps seems to be what I'd really like to be doing more. As web standards yet emerge and older as well as mobile and other inaccessible browsers exist, I try to separate extended functionality with Unobtrusive Javascript principles.
I take data migration for fun and love scraping non-semantic web pages to create aggregated content for my needs where possible.
My future points of interest include:
- Building mobile (web) applications, that I yet lack of developing experience
- Semantic web, microformats and SEO
- Distributed systems and computing
- Sharing and using information over RESTful APIs
- Learning marketing skills to sell products and solutions to people not so tech savvy
PHP, MVC, HTML, CSS, MySQL, Unobtrusive Javascript, microformats, Linux, FreeBSD, OSX, usability, Open Source

At Sanoma Digital I've been building new ad-funded consumer websites on a LAMP stack. Sites have been built on a PHP MVC framework that allowed rapid development of new features and working products to be launched from weeks to few months.

I worked on Mobile Monday global website project as a freelancer, building most of the CMS engine used on the website.
The project had more ambitious goals, but development has been frozen as the customer lately had no more interest in developing it and I only maintain their current web site and LAMP systems as needed.
