1989Present (25 years) Boulder, CO

I am an experimental electronic musician from Boulder, CO and have been programming and performing with synthesizers for over 20 years. My recent works include two original concept albums with composed instrumental music called REBOOT & I HEAR YOUR SIGNALS. I am currently working on the third album in the "Signals Universe" series which will contain composed and improvised material.

I perform live in a one-man show format playing and controlling synthesizers in real-time with antennas, cubes, grids, and keys. My show is an exploration in expressive musical controllerism. When performing live I arrange pieces on-the-fly and engage the audience with performances featuring instruments that offer feedback in the form of light. I have performed this live set at venues such as the Electro-Music Festival in NY, the University of Denver black box theatre, the Art Institute of California/Sunnyvale, and Ableton Colorado.

Prior to becoming a solo artist, I worked as a professional musician, sound designer, and composer for hire. My music is published on all major outlets including iTunes, Amazon MP3, Spotify, and Bandcamp. I also make my music available as free downloads under CC-BY-NC license and to date I have had over 40,000 combined listens on various music social networks such as soundcloud and bandcamp .

  • Sounds from a Distant Outpost Ableton Live Pack Sound Set

    • December 2010 to Present
    Team Members: Mark Mosher

Sounds From a Distant Outpost is more than a sample sound library. Over 30 hours in the making, it is a set of 12 deep and expressive instrument racks that will transport you to a dark and distant outpost. From here you will be able to explore the sounds, machines, and creatures of this world. These instruments will help spark your imagination and I hope inspire you to create your own soundtrack for this world. Of course, the instruments will also help add an interesting "edge" to any sound or music project.

The source audio is made up of some of my field recordings as well as original synthesized and re-synthesis harmonic content. The concept for the instruments was based on a back-story I created as the project progressed. Fueled by the story and setting, I translated these these source samples into Ableton Live racks and meticulously programmed them to create playable dynamic instruments which are placed under your command via macro parameters, velocity, after touch, and modulation wheel mappings.

  • REBOOT Album

    • October 2009 to Present
    Team Members: Mark Mosher

Two years in the making, REBOOT is an album containing 7 richly layered original electronica songs that blend classic and contemporary synthesizer sounds. The end result is dark electronica for those who love synth "ear candy" with a “dirty” industrial edge. While the songs on REBOOT stand alone as singles, the collection is an album in the true sense of the word. They share a common palette and when played in sequence conjure an epic and dynamic story for the listener. Prior to the release of the album, the first three tracks were released as singles. "Midnight" and "Stealth" went to #1 and "They Walk Among Us" went to #2 on the SoundClick electronica charts.

  • I HEAR YOUR SIGNALS Album

    • July 2010 to Present
    Team Members: Mark Mosher

I HEAR YOUR SIGNALS is an electronic/experimental album with 8 original songs. The album was composed an arranged for live performance and was created using keyboards, grid controllers, the Theremin, and unique visual and tangible controllers such as the Tenori-On and Percussa AudioCubes. The song "Dark Signals" went to #1 on the SoundClick electronica charts. This album is filled with a variety of songs from downtempo, EBM, to experimental tracks with electronic tonalities, to songs with melodies that live between what can be done with well-tempered keyboards. "They Walk Among Us" went to #2 on the SoundClick electronica charts.
