In Autumn 2007 I undertook a ‘live’ graphic design project for a module at University. The project was a logo design competition open to all design students around the globe, from as far as China to the USA. The winning design would be used by Art Gateway for their Corporate Identity and the student would become part of the Art Gateway Project team and gain a 2% share for life in the company’s business profit each month commencing September 2008 – I won this competition and have been working for Art Gateway ever since. I designed a full branding package for Art Gateway, including Business Cards, Compliment Slips, Letterheads and clothing branding concepts.

At Studio 57 I worked as a Graphic Designer. With hands on experience with industry standard printing technology I designed print media for clients such as brochures, flyers, posters, business cards and corporate branding/logos. I used Adobe Illustrator CS2 on a daily basis in work and have now gained a high level of proficiency using the software.

May 2007 — September 2007 (5 months)
I worked with Andronics for 4 months as a Web Developer. I was employed by Andronics to help with the transition from MSSQL server to MySQL, and from the old table based website layouts to a new dynamic CSS layout, which I would design. I was responsible for updating their ‘Utility Eye’ product website with new ‘Mimic’. I also created the graphics for the updates, using Photoshop.
Andronics had given the opportunity to re-design their whole Utility Eye website. Over my final 2 months working for the company I worked on the new dynamic CSS layout for the website, along with the PHP coding and MySQL backend. I gained some experience using AJAX and EXTJS on a basic level. Besides my CSS and PHP work, I also worked on some promotional multimedia for Andronics, such as their Flash banner on the Leocate website.

I worked on multimedia projects such as a full graphic design/corporate branding/visual identity for the SFF engineering team. My department manager was a Director of an Irish based international charity organisation called ‘Power 4 Good’, I was nominated by Intel to design do their branding as an ‘Intel Involved’ project – the design is now being used throughout their communications and has since been copyrighted by the charity.
Other graphic design projects included designing a software product icon for an application the team developed called ‘H2O – handheld office’. I developed an ASP database driven news based website for intel handheld users worldwide, the website can be access internally globally from the URL of http://handheld.intel.com. The website was programmed using VBscript and runs off a SQL Server database. The site incorporated the key components of that a news website required.
