Mark Rutledge's Summary
With over 15 years of design experience, Mark knows how to get clients to the finish line.
Mark began his career at Hangar 13 Art & Design in Ottawa where he quickly built a reputation for cutting edge design and top-notch client service. While at Hangar13, Mark was promoted to senior designer and then production manager. He worked with Fortune 500 companies like Royal Bank, Xerox and Bell Mobility.
In his next role at Maximum 60 Design and Communications, Mark honed his skills as the Director of Client Relations specializing in health-care. He worked with clients like Agro Health and Associates, Westpark Health-care Centre, Apotex Pharmaceuticals and Canadian Health & Lifestyle Magazine.
Mark is currently a Designer with Aasman Brand Communications in Whitehorse, Yukon. Aasman is a brand communications group that analyzes, develops and executes strategies that help clients communicate their brand.
In addition to Mark’s private and public sector design experience, he is one of the few designers with deep roots and deep experience designing for Canada’s First Nations Communities. Mark has worked closely with the Chiefs of Ontario, Indian and Northern Affairs Canada, SPIRIT Magazine, First Nations Confederacy of Cultural Education Centres and the Canadian Aboriginal Music Awards.
Mark’s portfolio is rich in annual reports, corporate brochures, research reports and book cover designs, but Mark’s real passion is for branding and visual identity. Mark has worked with a number of organizations to design their entire visual identity including logo, business collateral's, internal materials and stationary.
Mark holds a Diploma in Graphic Design from Seneca College in Toronto, 1993, and was granted R.G.D. accreditation in 2006 as a Registered Graphic Designer in Ontario.
A proud Ojibwa, Mark is also traditional dancer, and when he’s not slaving away at his latest design project, he is teaching children how to dance in the pow wow arena.
