As a cross-functional member of the senior management team reporting to the CEO, Mr. Heyer was involved in all aspects of the fast–growing business, from managing technical development projects to marketing and sales to representing the company in political action. As Director, Communities and E-commerce, implemented the strategic relationships for e-commerce operations. As Director, Customer Communication, developed and implemented business processes, represented the company to the press, appeared as company spokesman in television commercials and acted as the customer advocate.
In just two years, ISP Channel grew from startup to a national broadband ISP with 350 employees serving over 130,000 customers in 50 markets. Every customer had Mr. Heyer’s personal email address.

Mr. Heyer led projects including the Army EIDS Electronic Information Delivery System and the Bell Labs/Disney EPCOT World Key Network, the innovative fiber-based two-way video/data information system still operating in the park. In addition, Mr. Heyer conducted national lecture tours on behalf of Sony to promote the use of interactive technology in training, education and industry, taught courses and wrote articles on the subject,
