MicroAge was one of the largest distributors of microcomputers and support peripherals internationally and a forerunner in the personal computer marketplace. Working in Research and Development, I had to stay abreast of explosive microprocessor growth and change. My project responsibilities included product interface and support where I coordinated the development of the applications, software, and documentation supporting the introduction of many new devices and systems to the burgeoning personal computer marketplace. Additionally, interface standards between diverse devices were developed and documented allowing for product interoperability and marketability, numerous vendors products were reviewed for suitability and performance, and testing and burn-in protocols were established for Systems Integration.
