President of Zoove; Mobile/Wireless/Digital Media/Advertising/Marketing/Direct Response
San Francisco Bay Area
Mark has been involved in the mobile/wireless web/media world since '96 when he joined Unwired Planet in after stints with Oracle & NETCOM. Unwired Planet changed it's name to Phone.com in April ‘99 prior to the June ‘99 IPO. After many acquisitions including Onebox, APiON, Paragon, @Motion, etc, Phone.com merged with Software.com & changed it's name to Openwave in late ‘00.
In early ‘03, Mark joined Pinpoint Networks. Pinpoint merged with Power By Hand in ‘04 & changed the company name to Motricity which then acquired the mobile assets of Infospace.
In early '06, Mark joined Acta Wireless (an investment/advisory firm) to help grow new mobile/wireless ventures. One of those ventures is called Zoove (formerly Teleractive) based in Palo Alto, CA. Zoove has developed a direct response platform that is directly integrated to the wireless networks (via SS7). Zoove's technology enables an abbreviated dialing namespace for codes such as **SEARCH (**732724), or **COKE (**2653), for fast/easy access to data & voice services via a mobile phone. In February '08, Mark joined Zoove to focus 100% of his energy to this exciting new opportunity.
