Advisor to US companies who have, or are setting up, operations in the UK and elsewhere in Europe. Working with those companies and their USA based advisors to ensure that the company:
- complies with local legal and tax obligations
- understands the commercial culture in the UK
- effectively manages accounting and other company administration.
Led the firm's expansion into providing a turn-key accounting, taxation and corporate administration service for US companies establishing a presence in UK and onwards to other Europe countries. By initially specialising in companies headquartered in Denver and Boulder Colorado and travelling to meet companies and their advisors in person we grew this division to the point where in 2004 we sold the rest of our firm to focus on providing this service.
Expanded our activities from Colorado into Austin, Texas and Silicon Valley during 2004.

Changed roles in the partnership to become responsible for business development in light of the de-regulation of advertising and promotion in the UK public accounting profession. Implemented various programmes including public speaking, PR, direct mail, telephone solicitation, using external consultants and the firm's own resources. In June 1995 I launched www.netaccountants.com, the UK's first interactive webite with accounting, tax and other business advice topics. Later that year we were chosen by the UK Government's Department of Trade and Industry as one of 10 companies to case study as to the effective use of IT by small businesses.
As a result of the profitable new work gained the firm grew from 9 people to 22 in this period.

This was the division of NatWest Bank that managed investment portfolios for institutional investors, using investment teams in the major financial centres worldwide. NatWest, in common with other banks and organisations was reorganising to take advantage of the de-regulation of financial services in the UK - 'Big Bang'. This was a developmental role to improve financial reporting and control in a division that Natwest had formed by acquiring various other organisations. The role required extensive knowledge of financial accounting, management reporting, budgeting and cooperation with divisional controllers from all other parts of the newly formed NatWest Investment Bank.
