My responsibilities included installation, configuration, and maintenance of two Hewlett-Packard UNIX (HP/UX) servers: one application and web server; and, one firewall system. During this project, I coordinated a business continuity and disaster recovery effort of the HP systems following an electrical fire in the building that housed the equipment. I provided training on network and data security, performing security assessments, and security policy development. I also assisted Calian’s internal IT team with their security program and was instrumental in the creation of internal security policies.

I performed a significant amount of travel to customer sites in North and South America to design and implement secure networking solutions which incorporated TimeStep Gateways, desktop Clients, and Entrust’s Public Key Infrastructure (PKI). Other projects included testing the TimeStep solution with Novell’s IntraNetware 4.11 NetWare IP server and NetWare 5 native IP server, and participating in the development and delivery of a formal TimeStep training program for customers.

I was required to be in direct, regular contact with a number of iSTAR’s key iNTRANETs customers, and participated in weekly service review meetings in which he advanced several customer relationships from critical to normal status. In addition to being the product support specialist of iNTRANETs, I supported dedicated connection customers with DNS, World Wide Web (WWW) services, Internet routing and connectivity problems with their ISDN and T1 connections. Additional accomplishments included managing a technology recall and upgrade project, and service as iSTAR’s domain name registrar.

My responsibilities included wiring, connectivity and documentation of the LAN and the administration of internal voice communications systems including phone systems, voice mail, cellular phones and pagers. I was assigned the task of purchasing computer and network equipment, as well as setting up and maintaining email accounts and electronic mailing lists. As a member of the Management Information Systems (MIS) team, I participated in the development of iSTAR's national MIS strategy.
