Marcus has worked with computers since writing self-modifying code for his Dragon 32 (TRS-80 clone) in 1983! This only naturally led to pursuing a degree in Computer Science at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth.
He has worked with DB2 since 1991 when he was among the first in the UK to install Package support under DB2 2.3. He has written many Rexx/ISPF applications for DB2 including a TCP/IP applications server, a data migration process and a rules-based SQL performance analysis reporting program. At home, when his family commitments permit, he plays the piano, reads theology and mucks around with Linux and wireless LANs.
He has presented at different UK User Groups (including the UK DB2 Guide User Group, and the Cincom User Group), and has run training courses on DB2 basics and SQL Performance.
Marcus is a welsh-speaker and holds a CEng (Chartered Engineer), CITP (Chartered IT Professional), and is an IBM Certified Solutions Expert.
