I've never thought of myself as an engineer, although my recent jobs could be called software engineer, programmer, or developer. I see myself as mainly a business person, and a little bit of an artist/designer, with enough technical skills turn ideas into working software. My philosophy, that I've used to solve problems successfully over the past 10 years, is to make sure the end user's needs are met, first of all, and then to make sure I've met the needs of whoever is paying for the system; and to do it all using fundamentally good practices learned through continuously improving my skills and the systems I work on.
Currently, I'm working in healthcare, an industry with a lot of IT and software challenges, and where good solutions have perhaps the greatest potential to impact society.
Development of data-driven business applications, including data modeling and user interface design, through working with users, business owners, and technical resources.
Technical skills: C#, SQL Server, Python, Scrum, Agile development, SOA (Service Oriented Architecture), ASP.NET, Caché, HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
